Trouble solving high blood sugars when using an insulin pump

 

Diabetes :

Some type of sickness can raise your blood sugar because of the pressure hormones that are shaped.  Therefore,  your blood sugar level may be lofty even when you’re  not able to eat.   Blood sugar levels may also become hard to control. if blood sugar levels find high enough,  it can lead to a life threatening condition called diabetic DKA.

Diabetic ketoacidosis :

Diabetic ketoacidsis(DKS) is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body  produces very high levels of blood acids called ketenes.

Insulin Pump :

An insulin pump’s an insulin delivering machine that is  used by some people with diabetes.  A  little battery operated machine that can be worn on a belt or put in a pouch, it is  connected to a narrow artificial tube that is  inserted just under the skin and taped in put. People who use the pump program it to deliver insulin incessantly throughout the day and to release extra doses of insulin to grip rises in blood sugar.

Insulin second-hand in a pump often wears off in three/four hours. if a difficulty occurs with your infusion set or your pump,  Diabetic ketoacidsis can expand within hours.  You must be aware of the causes and warning signs of Diabetic ketoacidsis. You will need to make sure your blood sugars every two to three hours when you are sick.   You should have urine ketene testing strips obtainable at all times.  You may also need to inject insulin with a syringe to treat high blood sugars awaiting your blood sugars are controlled.

Causes of high blood sugars with insulin pump users :

Any sickness, infection, surgical procedure.
Disease at infusion site.
Mixture set has pulled out or disconnected.
Physical or moving stress.
Insulin exposed to extremes in hotness.
A little medicines may increase blood sugar levels.
Aged or expired insulin. Once opened, insulin is good for 30 days.
Mixture set has been in longer than 4 days.
